CRETE, Neb. -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program competed at the Doane Open throughout the day Friday.
The Argos had two athletes reach the placement matches on Friday in sophomore Kayla Shota and freshman Megan Morales.
Shota went 3-1 on Sunday on her way to a second-place finish defeating Keana Bush 14-7, Kaylyn Martin 10-6, #6 Alexsys Jacquez 12-1, but fell to #9 Ellana Martinez in the championship match.
Morales finished the Doane Open 3-2 for a fourth-place finish pinning Rocio Chaves in 1:58, defeating #14 Nia Avelino 11-0, and pinned Kayla McNatt, before falling to #9 Ellana Martinez.
The Argos will be back in action Sunday, Dec. 14 when they head to Naperville, Illinois for the North Central Invitational.
