McDonald's Player of the Week, Presented by Urban Edge Network

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances during competition from December 1 – 7, 2025.

Men’s Basketball – Defensive Player
Southern Oregon University’s Gio Evanson was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Evanson, a sophomore guard from Ridgefield, Wash., helped lead the Raiders to two wins to open CCC play. SOU defeated Northwest University, 79-66 and The Evergreen State College, 96-60. He totaled 12 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks, helping hold opponents to 63 points per game on 30 percent shooting. He also added 20 points and six assists in 46 minutes of action.

Men’s Basketball – Offensive Player
No. 22-ranked Oregon Tech’s Dakota Reber was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Reber, a senior forward from Milwaukie, Ore., guided the Owls to two victories to start conference action. OIT defeated The Evergreen State College, 89-53 and Northwest University, 98-65. He posted career highs with back-to-back double-doubles, finishing the weekend with 46 points on an outstanding 80 percent shooting and going 13-of-18 from the free-throw line. He also added 24 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and two steals in a strong all-around performance.

Women’s Basketball – Defensive Player
(RV) Eastern Oregon University’s Kelsie Siegner was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Siegner, a senior guard from Crane, Ore., helped lead the Mounties to two wins to tip off the regular season. EOU defeated No. 10-ranked Lewis-Clark State College, 63-52 and Walla Walla University, 89-53. She posted 10 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks helping hold opponents to 52.5 points per game on 33.5 percent shooting. She also added 33 points in 53 minutes of play.

Women’s Basketball – Offensive Player
No. 21-ranked Oregon Tech’s Tatum Schmerbach was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Schmerbach, a junior guard from Medford, Ore., guided the Owls to two victories to open CCC play. OIT defeated The Evergreen State College, 73-32 and Northwest University, 95-70. She totaled 38 points on 50 percent shooting and went a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. She added 18 assists and 16 rebounds in 55 minutes of action. Her weekend was highlighted by a triple-double, the third in OIT history, with 26 points, 13 assists (most in CCC this season), and 10 rebounds against Northwest.
 
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 25-ranked Montana State University–Northern’s Justin Windaue was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Windaue (165lbs), a junior from Columbia Falls, Mont., is ranked No. 17 nationally and went 5-0 to claim first place at the Conner-Oppenheim Open on Saturday. He earned four decisions and a technical fall en route to the title.
 
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 4-ranked University of Providence’s Paige Morales was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Morales, (110lbs), a junior from Fresno, Calif., is ranked No. 5 nationally and went 6-0 at the Patriot Duals this weekend. She recorded four unscathed technical falls and two pins, including a standout 10-0 upset over the No. 2-ranked wrestler.
