KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ayla Davies of No. 1 Southern Oregon University was named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week. She went 3-0 in her starts last week as she went the distance in each of them. The Sophomore allowed just four earned runs over 20 innings pitched to collect national pitcher of the week honors.
Davies was rock solid in the circle for her first three starts this season. Tossing 20 total innings, she allowed 12 hits, four earned runs, and walked four batters. She averaged 7.35 strikeouts per seven innings over the stretch with 21 total Ks and a 1.40 ERA.
In the win against No. 21 Hope International (Calif.) Davies picked up her 20th career shutout as her overall career record climbed to 41-5 at a Raider.
Davies and company are back on the diamond Friday, Feb. 13, for a doubleheader against Jessup (Calif.) at 2 and 4:30 p.m. PT.
