GAINESVILLE, Fla., [RESULTS] - The second day of the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship opened with the heptathlon and 3,000m race walk, featured several preliminary races and two field events and concluded with eight national champions crowned at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
Heptathlon Highlights
- Entering the day in fourth place, Carter Giittinger of Friends (Kan.) surged to the national title with strong performances across the final three events. Giittinger placed second in the 60m hurdles (8.36) and pole vault (4.65m) before closing with a sixth-place finish in the 1000m run (2:42.21).
- Giittinger totaled 5,466 points across the seven events, surpassing his previous personal best by 350 points to earn NAIA National Champion honors.
- Justin Krabbenhoft of Eastern Oregon finished second in the final standings with 5,413 points, while Carson Krack of Carroll (Mont.) placed third with 5,334 points.
Preliminary races were contested in the men's 1600m run, 60m hurdles, 400m dash, 600m run, 60m dash, 800m run, 1000m run and 200m dash.
Through six scored events, Marian (Ind.) leads the men's team standings with 23 points. Cornerstone (Mich.) sits close behind in second with 22 points, while Cumberlands (Ky.) holds third with 18.
Competition at the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship continues Saturday, March 7, at 11:30 a.m. ET with the men's triple jump. Track finals will begin at 12:25 p.m. ET, with the Championship Awards Ceremony scheduled for 6:15 p.m. ET.

RESULTS] - The second day of the 2026 NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship began with the 3,000m race walk, featured two field event finals and concluded with seven national champions crowned at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
3,000m Race Walk
- The first champion of the day was decided in the 3,000m race walk as Izabelle Trefts of Evergreen State (Wash.) delivered a record-breaking performance. Trefts clocked a personal-best 13:11.95, shattering the previous NAIA meet record of 13:23.29 set by Heather Durrant in 2024. After also winning the event in 2025, Trefts secures back-to-back national titles.
Preliminary rounds were contested in the women's 1600m run, 60m hurdles, 400m dash, 600m run, 60m dash, 800m run, 1000m run, and 200m dash.
Through seven scored events, Dickinson State (N.D.) leads the team standings with 20 points. Central Methodist (Mo.) sits in second with 19 points from day one, while Ottawa (Kan.) holds third with 16.
Competition resumes Saturday, March 7, beginning with the women's high jump and shot put at 11:30 a.m. ET. Track finals will start at 12:25 p.m., with the championship awards ceremony scheduled for 6:15 p.m. ET
