ASHLAND, Ore. – The 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, got off to an exciting start. Inclement weather eventually prompted schedule adjustments but despite the disruption, teams maintained a high level of intensity throughout the day.
No. 2 seed Corban University claimed the opening victory of the tournament with a 3-1 defeat over No. 3 seed College of Idaho.
The Yotes No. 2 pair, Faith Faucher and Greta Valaika, delivered a strong performance. They battled to a three-set win (21-17, 20-22, 16-14) to secure C of I’s lone point.
The Warriors No. 5 pair of Rebecca Wilber and Jordan Faircloth stood out with the only straight-set victory of the duals (21-17, 21-12).
Corban also earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 4 positions in tightly contested three-set matches, while the No. 3 matchup was truncated during the third set.

All matchups between No. 1 seed Southern Oregon University and No. 4 seed Bushnell University were decided in straight sets.
Bushnell’s No. 4 pair, Sydney Myhre and Laci Jespersen, put the Beacons on the board with a strong sweep (21-19, 21-17).
The Raiders responded in dominant fashion on their home courts, earning key wins across the lineup. SOU’s No. 5 pair set the tone early, cruising to a 12-point margin in the opening set. The No. 2 and No. 3 pairs also secured victories while the No. 1 matchup was truncated.

No. 4 seed Bushnell then edged out No. 3 College of Idaho in a dramatic elimination matchup.
The Yotes held a 2-1 advantage behind wins at the No. 1 and No. 4 positions before a storm moved through the valley, forcing a temporary suspension of play until conditions improved.
Once action resumed, Bushnell’s No. 5 pair, Haley Engelbrecht and Isabella Jacobson, delivered a straight-set win (21-11, 21-16) to even the contest.
The deciding point came down to the No. 3 pair. They all battled in a hard fought three set matchup before Carly Hanna and Monet Panther clinched the dual and advanced the Beacons (19-21, 21-17, 15-13).
College of Idaho concluded its season with a 7-10 overall record.
