Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The (RV) University of British Columbia baseball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for April 13 – April 19, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

British Columbia jumped into first place in the CCC standings with a statement four game road sweep of Oregon Tech, showcasing relentless offense and late game surges throughout the series.

UBC opened the weekend with a dramatic 13-11 comeback victory, rallying in the ninth inning while down to their final out. Braeden Scott delivered the decisive hit with a two-run single before Calvin Warrillow launched a go ahead home run to complete the turnaround. Linden Happell earned the win on the mound while Lucas Huynh shut the door for the save.

Game two featured another explosive offensive showing in a 16-12 victory that was suspended due to darkness and completed the following day. Warrillow headlined the effort with a monster performance including five hits, five runs, and four RBIs while the Thunderbirds once again took control late with a decisive ninth inning surge. Kaden Douglas-Pluff secured the final outs upon resumption.

The momentum carried into game three, where UBC claimed an 11-8 win behind David Krahn’s three-hit, three-RBI performance. The Thunderbirds built an early lead, responded to multiple OIT rallies, and added key insurance runs late to seal the series victory with Huynh earning his second save of the weekend.

UBC left no doubt in the finale, rolling to a 15-5 run rule victory in seven innings. Josh Cote led the way with three RBIs, while the Thunderbirds capitalized on defensive miscues and erupted for a five run sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Across the four-game sweep, UBC’s offense was dominant, scoring 55 total runs and reaching double digits in every contest. Warrillow paced the lineup with an outstanding weekend, hitting .600 (9-for-15) with three home runs, nine RBIs, and eight runs scored, while Krahn added nine RBIs and seven runs of his own.

With the sweep, the Thunderbirds improved to 33-12 overall and 27-6 in CCC play, taking first place in the conference standings. Next weekend UBC will host Bushnell University on a seven game win streak in their final series of the regular season.
