LC State Baseball Season Ends with Loss to No. 1 Taylor

LEWISTON, Idaho – The 2026 LC State Baseball season came to an end on Monday when the top-seeded Taylor Trojans defeated the third-seeded Warriors 8-5. LC State finished the season with a record of 45-9 in Jeremiah Robbins' first season back in Lewiston.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans scored two runs on four hits in the top of the first inning, but hits by Jackson Jaha and Bryce Johnson cut the deficit in half in the home half of the frame.

Taylor added on in the top of the third with the help of a three-run home run. After a six-run frame, the Trojans led 8-1.

Ryan Prescott just missed a home run in the bottom of the third as the Warriors battled back. Jackson Reed singled and Noah Weintraub drew a walk before a double by Prescott just missed the top of the wall and brought in a run. Bulla Ephan followed with a base hit of his own to cut the difference to 8-3, and a fielder's choice off the bat of Payton Smith made it 8-4.

The Warriors added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning after back-to-back singles by Brandon Nguyen and Jaha started the frame. Izzy Madariaga brought LC State within three with a sacrifice fly.

Taylor held the lead for the remainder of the contest.
