Men's Basketball 11/1/2019 11:31:00 PM Iain Dexter, EOU Sports Information Director EOU Men’s Basketball Falls 91-78 at Montana Tech BUTTE, Mont. – The Eastern Oregon men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2019-20 regular season, falling 91-78 at Montana Tech at the Montana Tech Fall Classic on Friday night. The Mountaineers (2-1) trailed by just one at halftime after shooting 50 percent from the field and holding the Orediggers to just under 37 percent. The second half was a different story as Montana Tech shot 60 percent from the floor and outscored EOU 53-41. The Orediggers capitalized on their three-point shooting, going 8-for-21 from beyond the arc. On the other side, EOU was just 4-for-16. Senior forward Landon Jones had his second-straight double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Junior guard Max McCullough finished with 16 points and four boards while senior center Jarek Schetzle added 14 points and seven rebounds. Montana Tech did a good job spreaking the ball around with five players reaching 12 points and three players, Taylor England, Sindou Diallo and Dylan Pannabecker, scoring 15. The Mountaineers finish the tournament on Saturday, taking on Carroll College, who is receiving votes in the NAIA Division I Top-25 Poll, at 5 p.m. Mountain time in Butte.
