WVT Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following nine CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during the period Oct. 25-31, 2021.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Attacker
The Evergreen State College’s Zoe Shaw was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Shaw, a junior outside hitter from Arlington, Texas, helped the Geoducks come up big with a 3-2 victory over No. 7-ranked Corban University as she hit .302 for the match with 21 kills and 13 digs for a double-double. Shaw finished the week averaging 4.00 kills and 4.25 digs per set, with two blocks and one ace.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Defender
(RV) Oregon Tech’s Aubrey Kievit was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
Kievit, a junior libero from Central Point, Ore., anchored the defense in both wins this weekend for the Owls. She was the overall dig leader in both matches this weekend for all teams that competed after posting 28 digs on Friday night and 19 digs in OIT’s 3-1 win over No. 12-ranked Eastern Oregon University. Kievit finished with 11 assists and two aces, while averaging 5.22 digs per set.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Setter
(RV) Oregon Tech’s Courtney Isom was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Setter of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Isom, a junior setter from Brownsville, Ore., fueled the Owl offense to pick up two wins on the week. She had 59 assists over nine sets to average 6.56 assists per set. Isom also had 14 digs, one block and one service ace on the week.
 
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Northwest University’s Kierstin Patefield was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Patefield, a graduate goalkeeper from Puyallup, Wash., posted 19 saves in two games, including 10 against the College of Idaho to get her conference-leading eighth shutout of the season. She played almost 190 minutes in goal to pick up the two wins.
 
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Northwest University’s Callie Wright was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Wright, a junior forward from Woodway, Wash., helped the Eagles grab two wins on the week. She scored both goals in NU’s 2-1 victory over Eastern Oregon University, taking three shots on goal in the game. Wright finished the week with eight shots, putting half of them on goal.
 
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Northwest University’s Alexander Thiehofe was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Thiehofe, a junior goalkeeper from Bottrop, Germany, posted two shutouts to help the Eagles grab two wins and earn a spot in the CCC tournament. In just under 190 minutes of action on the week, Thiehofe made eight saves between the posts.

Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech’s Anthony Santillan was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Santillan, a junior forward from Woodburn, Ore., had two goals and an assist in the Owls’ 5-0 win over Multnomah University. He then had OIT’s only goal in a 1-1 tie with Warner Pacific University to lead the Owls in grabbing a share of CCC regular-season title.
 
Women’s Basketball – Player
College of Idaho’s Lexi Mitchell was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Mitchell, a junior guard from Middleton, Idaho, led the Coyotes to their first 2-0 start since the 2012-13 season. She shot 54.5-percent from the floor, averaging 14.0 points per game. In C of I’s 92-49 win over Pacific Union, Mitchell had 17 points on an 8-for-12 performance. Against Simpson, Mitchell grabbed a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. She also finished with seven assists on the week.
 
Men’s Basketball – Player
No. 20-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Nathan Fromm was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Fromm, a junior guard from Anchorage, Alaska, had a stellar start to his season and helped the Warriors to two big wins over Yellowstone Christian. He tied an LC State record with his 11-for-11 performance from the field on Thursday, scoring a career-high 25 points in just 19 minutes on the court. Fromm averaged 16.5 points per game with a field goal percentage of .778, grabbed six rebounds and had three assists on the week.
