WVT Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during the period Nov. 8-14, 2021.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Attacker
No. 8-ranked Corban University’s Rylee Troutman was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Troutman, a freshman outside hitter from Powell Butte, Ore., registered a career-high 23 kills on a .353 attack percentage to pace the Warriors on Friday, turning in a career night when the squad needed it most to grab a five-set victory over Bushnell University in the CCC tournament semifinals. Troutman added 19 more kills on Saturday to help Corban grab the CCC Volleyball Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Defender
No. 8-ranked Corban University’s Kealani Ontai was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Ontai, a junior defensive specialist from Pearl City, Hawaii, turned in a handful of sprawling digs to keep rallies alive for the Warriors, finishing with 23 in total in Saturday’s championship match. She finished the week averaging 4.67 digs per set and had three aces and one kill.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Setter
No. 8-ranked Corban University’s Jadyn Mullen was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Volleyball Setter of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Mullen, a junior setter from Puyallup, Wash., helped fuel the Corban offense to sweep the CCC championships with 60 assists in the tournament. She finished with 31 assists – just one off her season-high – in the Warriors’ 3-1 victory over No. 12-ranked Eastern Oregon University in the championship match. Mullen finished the tournament averaging 6.67 assists and 1.56 digs per set. She also had an ace.
 
Women’s Soccer - Defensive
No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech’s Karly White was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
White, a freshman defender from Salem, Ore., led the Owl defense to two shutouts and only one goal allowed on the way to the CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. She added an assist in the title game to lift OIT to sweep the CCC championships.
 
Women’s Soccer - Offensive
No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech’s Maddie Miller was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Miller, a sophomore midfielder/forward from Oregon City, Ore., had three goals and an assist in leading the Tech offense to the CCC Championship. She scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Carroll College in the quarterfinals and had two goals in the championship game.
 
Men’s Soccer - Defensive
No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech’s Reilly Combs was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Combs, a sophomore defender from Oregon City, Ore., held the Hustlin’ Owls win the CCC Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, by anchoring the backline. He also got in on the attack and scored two goals, including the game-winner in the quarterfinals against The Evergreen State College.
 
Men’s Soccer - Offensive
No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech’s Brock Rideout was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Rideout, a sophomore defender from Las Vegas, helped lift the Owls to the tournament title with a goal and an assist over the week. He had an assist in Tech's 2-0 win over the Geoducks in the quarterfinals and then scored the game-winner in the championship game in the second overtime period to win the title for the Owls.

Women’s Basketball – Player
College of Idaho’s Sienna Riggle was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Riggle, a senior forward from Stansbury Park, Utah, had a huge trip to California, helping C of I start 5-0 on the season for the first time in program history. She posted two double-doubles, including a career-high 15 rebounds at Westcliff, and made 56-percent of her field goal attempts on the week. Riggle averaged 14.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game and added four blocked shots.
 
Men’s Basketball – Player
No. 20-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Kevin Baker was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Baker, a graduate forward from Kent, Wash., had an impressive weekend at the Clearwater River Casino & Lodge Classic over the weekend. The transfer led LC State with 21.5 points per game in the tournament and was voted the tournament's MVP. Baker dropped a career-high 23 points against a talented Montana Western team on Saturday after scoring 20 the night before. He shot 52.4-percent from the field, 66.7-percent from three-point range and drained 15 of his 17 foul shots. He also averaged 6.5 boards per game.
 
Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 14-ranked University of Providence’s Ashley Gooman was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Gooman, the fifth-ranked 116-pound wrestler from Ewa, Hawaii, defeated three NCAA opponents (including a Division I wrestler) en route to winning the 116-pound division at the Maverick Open. Gooman cruised through the division, recording one pin and three technical falls.
 
Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
(RV) University of Providence’s KC Buday was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Buday, a sophomore heavyweight from Great Falls, Mont., finished second in the 285-pound weight class at the Grand View Open, winning four-straight bouts before losing in the championship to top-ranked Greg Hansen. Buday sits 13th in the NAIA for heavyweights.
