Three CCC Athletes Earn NAIA Baseball All-American Honors

| By: Sammi Wellman, CCC Director of Communications
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2021 Baseball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee.

The first and second teams are also recognized as ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods. The ABCA began recognizing All-Americans in 1949 and named the first ABCA NAIA All-America team in 1969.

Three athletes from the Cascade Collegiate Conference picked up All-American honors. Lewis-Clark State College’s Brock Ephan earned second team recognition, while fellow Warrior Aidan Nagle picked up Honorable Mention.

Ephan capped his Warrior career as the Cascade Conference Player of the Year after leading LC State in batting average (.406), slugging (.827) and on-base percentage (.508). Nagle had a breakout year for the Warriors in 2021. The junior from Santa Rosa, Calif. was second on the team in batting average (.384), slugging (.723) and home runs (13). Nagle tallied 19 doubles and was second on the team with 66 RBI. Both Nagle and Ephan had three stolen bases in three attempts.

Corban University saw Zack Simon grab All-American Honorable Mention distinction as well. Simon boasted the 36th-lowest ERA in the entire NAIA at 2.63 and averaged a CCC-high 6.2 innings pitched per game, playing a pivotal role in the squad's historic run to the NAIA National Tournament.
