KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State College moved up to No. 3 in the final poll to the top in the postseason edition of the NAIA Baseball Top 25, released Wednesday.
The Warriors finished the year with a 44-6 overall record, bowing out of the NAIA World Series in the semifinal round. The Warriors played their most successful season under head coach Jake Taylor with a winning percentage of .880. LC State captured the first-ever Cascade Collegiate Conference championship and saw Brock Ephan named the CCC Player of the Year.

Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
- The frequency of the polls is bi-weekly. This policy was approved by the National Administrative Council (NAC) prior to the 2016-17 academic season. This change allows raters the opportunity to consider a larger body of work between rating periods.
