Warriors' Johnson Earns CoSIDA Academic All-America® Honor

LEWISTON, Idaho – Jack Johnson of Lewis-Clark State College capped his tenure as a Warrior with the highest academic honor a student-athlete can receive. The Seattle native was voted a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American, announced by CoSIDA on Monday.

Johnson is the second LC Baseball player to earn the award, and the first-ever to be named to the first team. Ryan Heitmann was voted a CoSIDA Third-Team Academic All-American in 2002.

Johnson wrapped up his career at LC State with a 3.75 GPA in Accounting. The Seattle native was voted All-Cascade Conference after batting .342 on the season with eight home runs. He slugged .593 with a .445 on-base percentage, led the team with three triples and was second in doubles (20) and stolen bases (13). The senior carried a hitting streak into the 2021 season that ended at 22 games which is tied for the ninth-best by a Warrior.

In the 2021 Avista NAIA World Series, Johnson hit .429 and was second in the tournament with nine hits. He had three hits in a game twice during the week and was voted to the all-tournament team.

Johnson, along with former Warrior Brock Ephan, are currently playing professionally with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League. He is the second LC State student-athlete to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American this year joining men's basketball's Hodges Bailey.
