BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The UBC Thunderbirds have claimed their first tournament victory in their return to Cascade Collegiate Conference play as they won the Gail Moore Intercollegiate at Sudden Valley Golf Course in Bellingham, Washington on Tuesday.
Emily Li's two-round 8-over 152 saw the freshman clinch her first individual CCC tournament title, one stroke ahead of teammate Sonja Tang, as UBC shot a 20-over 308 Tuesday, for a 36-hole final score of 41-over 617, 30 strokes ahead of second place Oregon Tech.
Tang's 2-over 74 was the low score Tuesday, while Oregon Tech's Ashley Zhu and Payton Canon both shot 75 to help secure the Owls' second place tournament finish at 71-over 647.

Lewis-Clark State finished third at 84-over 660, thanks in part to Alexandra Schmidt (15-over 159) and Kyla Currie (16-over 160) both finishing in the top ten.
Corban University secured fourth place with a 107-over par 683.
The College of Idaho improved their first round score by a collective 19 strokes to push ahead of Bushnell University for fifth place at 151-over 727. The Beacons also improved their second round score by eight strokes, finishing 159-over for the tournament.
Walla Walla University also dropped their score from Monday, shooting 79-over 367 for a two-day total score of 173-over 749.
With the inaugural tournament of the new CCC season in the books, these seven teams will look forward to seeing each other again on the course when they gather at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club on Monday, September 27th for the Warrior Invitational.
