Lumsden, a freshman guard from Boise, Idaho, scored a career-high 32 points in his first career start for the Mountaineers as they ground out a 102-93 home win over Multnomah University. He shot over 40-percent from the floor overall (43.8) and from three-point range (46.2). Lumsden flirted with a double-double, dishing out a game-best nine assists and had five boards as EOU played with just seven available players.

Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Sienna Ramirez was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Wrestler of the Week for the second time this year.

Ramirez, a senior 155-pound wrestler from Lakewood, Wash., defeated four top-15 opponents in leading SOU to a third-place finish at the NWCA National Dual Meet Championships. Included in her run was a 4-1 decision over second-ranked Destinee Rivera of Life (Ga.). Ramirez, who is the top-ranked 155-pounder in the NAIA, finished the weekend with two technical falls and two decisions.

Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 20-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Jay Smith was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.

Smith, a sophomore 197-pound grappler from Bothell, Wash., improved to 6-3 in dual action over the weekend and helped guide EOU to a pair of CCC road victories, including a 36-15 victory over No. 18-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Both of his wins came via decision as he now stands at 17-8 on the year. Smith’s 17 wins are the most for EOU this season so far.
