LC State’s VanDyke Repeats as NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State College’s Clayton VanDyke was named the NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, announced Wednesday by the national office.

VanDyke, from Vernal, Utah, had another stellar week where he broke LC State program records. It marks the second time a Warrior has grabbed the national honor twice in the same season, but the first to do it in consecutive weeks.

The senior set an LC State record in every event he was part of on Saturday at the Lauren McCuskey Memorial Open. He ran automatic-qualifying times in the 600m (1:20.30) and 1000m (2:26.23), which is the fastest time in the NAIA so far this season. VanDyke also holds the top times in the 800m and mile, set earlier this season. He bested the program record in the 600m by three seconds and was a member of the fastest 4x400m relay team in program history (3:24.27).
