Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Oct. 10-16, 2022.
 
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Corban University’s Jamine Biava was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Biava, a junior defender from Arroio Trinta, Brazil, put together her best weekend of the year in Montana against Rocky Mountain College and the University of Providence. She logged three goals, including two game-winners, and added an assist to help Corban go 2-0 on the week.
 
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Southern Oregon University’s Jessie Selby was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Selby, a senior goalkeeper from Vancouver, Wash., recorded 12 saves as SOU banked a 4-point weekend against No. 25-ranked Eastern Oregon University (4-0) and No. 22-ranked College of Idaho (1-1). Over her last five outings, Selby has made 23 saves and allowed just one goal.
 
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 22-ranked Warner Pacific University’s Andrew Martinez was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year.
 
Martinez, a freshman forward from Gresham, Ore., kept up his incredible pace this weekend, scoring three goals in the Knights’ 2-0 week. Two of Martinez’s goals were game winners and he also recorded an assist.
 
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
(RV) Corban University’s Quinn McCallion was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year.
 
McCallion, a senior goalkeeper from Wallingford, U.K., broke the Corban school-record for shutouts Saturday afternoon in the Warriors’ 4-0 victory over the University of Providence, as the scoreless outing marks his 13th of the year. McCallion continues to lead the CCC in goals against average (0.20), save percentage (.893), and shutouts (13).
 
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 3-ranked Corban University’s Rylee Troutman was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the fourth time this year and second week in a row.
 
Troutman, a sophomore outside hitter from Powell Butte, Ore., continued her incredibly hot streak with three-straight double-digit kill games, helping lead the Warriors to a perfect 3-0 week. She complimented a massive 51-kill week (5.10 kills per set) with two more double-doubles against (RV) Bushnell University and Multnomah University, totaling 34 digs for the week. Additionally, Troutman added seven blocks at the net and still leads the CCC in both kills (321) and kills per set (4.01).
 
Volleyball – Defender
College of Idaho’s Chayla Slavin was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
Slavin, a sophomore middle blocker from Boise, Idaho, recorded 1.50 blocks per set as College of Idaho went 2-1 last week with its lone loss a four-set decision to No. 1 Eastern Oregon University. She had five block solos and 13 block assists in the three matches. Slavin had seven blocks (three solos and four block assists) in a win over Walla Walla University and recorded two block solos and four block assists against EOU.
 
Volleyball – Setter
Southern Oregon University’s Hannah Randall was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Setter of the Week.
 
Randall, a junior setter from Eugene, Ore., posted 97 assists, 15 digs, nine kills and four aces during SOU's weekend sweep while playing every rotation for the first time this season. Her assist total of 50 on Saturday vs. The Evergreen State College was the highest for a Raider in six years. Randall was effective on offense as well and clinched Friday's tiebreaker set against Northwest University with a kill.
 
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Cristian Mendoza was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Mendoza, a sophomore from La Grande, Ore., ran an exceptional race in the most competitive field the Mounties have seen all year. He finished 10th out of 369 runners, helping lead EOU to a second place team finish in a race that included strong NCAA Division I talent.
 
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 6-ranked College of Idaho’s Ellyse Tingelstad was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Tingelstad, a junior from Joseph, Ore., was the top finisher for the Coyotes at the Lewis & Clark XC Invite, taking second overall behind a non-collegiate runner. She covered the 6K course in 21 minutes, 36.6 seconds to help C o f I take third as a team behind NCAA Division I opponents.
 
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Bushnell University’s Caden Stubbs was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Stubbs, a senior from Eugene, Ore., shot four birdies on the final nine holes of round two to climb into the top-ten and lead the Beacons to a fourth-place finish at the Danish Classic, hosted by The Master's College at Alisal Ranch GC in Solvang, Calif.
 
Women’s Golf – Golfer
(RV) Oregon Tech’s Payton Canon was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Golfer of the Week for the third time this year.
 
Canon, a senior from Greenwood Village, Colo., had a dominant performance at the OIT Fall Invitational. She set a 54-hole scoring record, finishing 1-under-par, to win the event by 14 strokes. Canon had two rounds under par (2-under-par Round 2, 1-under-par Round 3) to help the Owls win the event as a team.
