CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the second-straight year, Lewis-Clark State College was the unanimous pick to win the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship, announced Thursday.
The Warriors grabbed all seven first-place votes for 49 points after winning their second consecutive CCC Baseball Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, last year. LC State comes off a historic season where it got its best start in program history (20-1) and set the program record for longest winning streak with 28 games. The Warriors finished with a 58-7 overall record and as the NAIA National Runner-Up.
UBC sits second on the poll with 42 points and finished the 2022 campaign with a 33-26 overall record. The Thunderbirds grabbed the CCC’s second qualifier to the NAIA Tournament after finishing as the runner-up in the conference tournament but couldn’t get past the Warriors in the Opening Round.
The College of Idaho picked up 35 points to sit in third, followed by Oregon Tech in fourth with 28 points. Corban University rounds out the top-five teams with 20 points, while Bushnell University and Eastern Oregon University fill in the final spots at sixth and seventh, respectively.
The CCC conference season begins the weekend of Feb. 24 and 25, with the CCC Baseball Tournament playing out May 7-9 at the regular season champion’s home field.
