CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 10 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Nov.7-13, 2022.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 4-ranked Corban University’s Rylee Troutman was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the sixth time this year.
Troutman, a sophomore outside hitter from Powell Butte, Ore., posted an incredible 19-kill and 18-dig performance in the semifinals against (RV) Southern Oregon University, before having the game of her career in the championship match versus No. 1 Eastern Oregon University. She tallied a career-high 27 kills and added 16 digs in the backcourt for her 14
th double-double on the year, while adding a solo block and three assisted blocks over the weekend tourney.
Volleyball – Defender
No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Cambree Scott was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Defender of the Week for the second time this year.
Scott, a middle hitter from Bend, Ore., totaled 14 blocks on the weekend to help propel the Mountaineers to their first CCC Volleyball Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, title since 2016. Scott, who currently leads the nation in blocks per set, put on a nine-block performance in the CCC Championship match to lift the Mounties to a five-set victory over fourth-ranked Corban.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 4-ranked Corban University’s Jadyn Mullen was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Setter of the Week for the fourth time this year.
Mullen, a senior setter from Puyalup, Wash., commanded the Warrior offense to a tournament-high 120 kills over nine sets. She was responsible with over half of those assists with 25 and 35 dimes in the semis and championship against (RV) SOU and No. 1 EOU, respectively. She added 19 digs, 13 in the finals for her 10
th double-double of the season.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 25-ranked Northwest University’s Anna Lau was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Lau, a junior forward from Lynnwood, Wash., helped the Eagles win the 2022 CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. She scored both game-winning goals in the quarter and semifinal games, before grabbing an assist in the championship game.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 25-ranked Northwest University’s Hanne Breur was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year.
Breur, a freshman goalkeeper from deBilt, Netherlands, was dominant for the Eagles in the CCC tournament, allowing just one goal to help NU win the championship. She total 14 saves on the week and posted two shutouts to set a new Eagle record with 12 clean sheets on the year.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Corban University’s Max McDonough was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Golfer of the Week.
McDonough, a sophomore from Woodinville, Wash., was the top performer for the Warriors at the Firestorm Fall Classic. He improved round by round to finish (-2) on the final day to climb to a tie for 31st overall with 231 total points.
Women’s Basketball – Player
No. 22-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Maddie Holm was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Holm, a junior forward from Saint Helens, Ore., dominated all aspects of the game in Saturday's 64-56 victory over Montana Tech. She tied a career-high with 17 rebounds to match her 17 points and tallied a career-best seven steals. Holm also dished out three assists and blocked one shot. She shot 50-percent from the field (6-for-12) and was perfect at the free throw line (4-for-4).
Men’s Basketball – Player
Southern Oregon University’s Atmar Mundu was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Mundu, a senior guard from Fremont, Calif., scored a career-high 32 in SOU's upset of sixth-ranked William Jessup, helping the Raiders beat WJU 94-88. He went 8-of-10 from three-point range on the week and has scored in double figures all four games, averaging 19.3 points per game on 54-percent shooting.
Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 2-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Emily Se was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
Se, a senior 143-pound grappler from Sacramento, Calif., pinned all four of her opponents in the first round to claim the 143-pound title at Pacific's Mike Clock Open in SOU's season debut. Three of her falls came in under a minute, with her fastest pin clocking in at 24 seconds.
Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Michael Desnmore was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Densmore, a junior 184-pound wrestler from Winslow, Ariz., went 5-0 on the weekend to help ERAC secure a shutout win against Simpson University in dual action. He also won his second tournament of the year, grabbing the ERAU Mile High Open 184-pound championship by beating No. 9-ranked Baron Gaunt of Vanguard 4-1 to remain undefeated on the year.
