Warrior Track and Field Wraps Up Indoor Regular Season with Standout Performances

SPOKANE, Wash. – LC State Track and Field capped off its regular indoor season with its final meet at The Podium. The Warriors performed well with school records, personal-bests and strong performances from several athletes today.

“Pretty excited about the racing and the competing today both in our field and our running events,” Head Coach Mike Collins said. “I thought going into our last indoor meet of the year, outside of indoor nationals, that we performed really well and had some nice step-up performances. Even if they weren't national-qualifying marks, it is encouraging for the outdoor season as we prepare both for conference and hopefully for nationals. Excited about preparing for the next couple of weeks as well, for within the next month we have the indoor national meet for those that made it, and our first outdoor meet.”

It was not only a successful day for current Warriors, but also a talented former Warrior as well. LC State Track and Field alum and Olympian, Sam Atkin, raced indoors in Boston on Saturday and finished fifth in the 5,000m (13:03), meeting the World/Olympic standard.
