CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship Set For Sunday

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a year hiatus, the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is back in action.

Sunday’s action is set to begin at 10 a.m. and will be streamed live here and the CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship Tournament page can be found here.

No. 10-ranked University of Providence hosts the one-day event at Great Falls, Mont., which has all seven CCC teams participating – four of which are ranked and another two are receiving votes in the latest NAIA coaches’ poll.

After claiming the first-ever CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship in 2020, No. 3-ranked Menlo College was picked to take the trophy once again.

The top-three place winners in each weight class will be designated all-conference and an Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament and Coach of the Year will be voted on by the head coaches following the conclusion of the tournament.

The NAIA has recognized the sport as an offering at the national level and held the first Invitational in 2019 in which Menlo was crowned the champion. Women’s wrestling must remain in the Invitational “status” for a minimum of three years. After three years, and if a minimum of forty institutions in the NAIA sponsor the sport, it will be considered for Championship status.

The 2022 NAIA Invitational marks the third year and will be held March 11-12 in Jamestown, N.D.
