College of Idaho Women's Track and Field Begins 2022 Outdoor Season

PORTLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho men's and women's track and field started the 2022 outdoor portion of its schedule at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Classic on Saturday with 18 CCC Championship qualifying performances.

On the women's side, Sage Martin took home first place in the 3,000m steeplechase in a CCC Championship qualifying time of 11:00.08. C of I took the top two spots in the high jump with CCC Championship qualifying clearances of 5-1 3/4 (1.57m) as Morgan Harrison and Cassidy Stoddard led C of I. Also for the 'Yotes was Naeve Rodgers, who won the long jump with a leap of 16-5 (5.00m) which is also a CCC Championship qualifying mark. Rodgers was third in the triple jump with a CCC qualifying jump of 33-8 1/2 (10.27m) and Stoddard was fourth with also a CCC Championship qualifying mark of 33-2 1/2 (10.12m).
 
Plus, in the 100m dash, Sage Wood and Charlotte Wilson secured spots at the CCC Championships with their runner-up (12.78) and third-place (12.81) finishes, respectively. Wood also took second in the 200m dash in another CCC Championship qualifying time of 26.42. Abbey Shirts was fourth in the 1,500m run with a CCC Championship qualifying time of 4:40.49.
 
In the shot put, four 'Yotes were able to secure CCC Championship qualifying marks. Esther Ezeogu (40-2 3/4 / 12.26m), Emily Fox (38-4 1/4 / 11.69m), AaLea Kolb (36-2 3/4 / 11.04m) and Lily Campbell (35-1 1/4 / 10.70m). Kolb won the discus with a throw of 129-9 (39.56m) which also is a CCC Championship qualifying mark. Ezeogu was also able to post a CCC Championship qualifying mark with a toss of 107-7 (32.80m). In the hammer, Fox and Campbell took second (156-2 / 47.60m) and fourth (140-2 / 42.73m), respectively]. Both marks were CCC Championship qualifying tosses.
