CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following four CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Feb. 28 through March 6, 2022.
Softball – Pitcher
No. 1-ranked Oregon Tech’s Sarah Abramson was named the WVT Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Abramson, a senior pitcher from Milwaukie, Ore., led the Owls to a 4-0 weekend, picking up two shutout wins in the circle. She only allowed three hits in 11 innings with 16 strikeouts without conceding a single run.
Softball – Player
No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Riley Donovan was named the WVT Laboratory Softball Player of the Week.
Donovan, a senior catcher from Half Moon Bay, Calif., went 5-for-8 with two home runs – her fourth and fifth long balls of the season – to help the Raiders take two wins from Arizona Christian University. She finished the series with seven RBIs and four walks, extending her on-base streak to 20 games. Donovan finished the week with a .625 batting average and 1.375 slugging percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Erik Wisenor was named the WVT Laboratory Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Wisenor, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Nampa, Idaho, picked up the save in all three Coyote wins. He worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in Game 2 of the series, while retiring 7-of-8 batters on Sunday. Wisenor struck out a total of seven batters without giving up a walk or run in four total innings.
Baseball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Dalton Daily was named the WVT Laboratory Baseball Player of the Week for the second time this year.
Daily, a senior infielder from Bishop, Calif., had a monster weekend to help the Hustlin’ Owls go 4-0 over NCAA Division II opponent Saint Martin’s University. He hit .647 (11 for 17) with four doubles, two home runs, and 10 RBIs. Daily finished the week with a slugging percentage of 1.235 and helped turn three double plays defensively.
