UBC Duo Named NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UBC swept the NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, announced Wednesday by the national office.

Dylan Uhrich was named the Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Rowan Hamilton picked up the Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Uhrich, a freshman from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, grabbed a personal-best time of 8:57.17 in the 3K steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Relays. The time – which is good for an NAIA “A” mark – moved Uhrich into the top spot in the NAIA in the event.

Hamilton, a sophomore from Chilliwack, B.C., Canada, set a new personal record in the hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays, taking first out of 49 athletes. It also marks the top collegiate throw across all divisions of NCAA, JUCO, and NAIA by 2 meters. Hamilton also owns the No. 1-ranked NAIA throw by 11 meters.
