CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corban University baseball team has been named the Under Armour Team of the Week for Mar. 28-Apr. 3 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The timeless adage of “it’s why you play the game” rang true in the City of Roses as Corban took on powerhouse and No. 3 ranked Lewis-Clark State College in CCC baseball this weekend. The 4-game series was held at the University of Portland due to schedule conflicts at the Warrior home field in Keiser, Oregon.
NAIA powerhouse LCSC came into the weekend with a program best 27 game winning streak which they would extend to 28 games after taking game one from Corban 4-0 on Friday. Corban went on to do what many thought was not possible winning two of the next three games with scores of 2-1, 3-2. LC would win the final game 15-3.
Corban not only broke into the win column for the first time in CCC play but they also snapped the 28-game winning streak that the Warriors had amassed so far this season and came into the weekend 33-1
Corban (14-16-1, 2-6 CCC) will next be in action as they travel to The College of Idaho April 9-10 in another CCC matchup.
