LOGAN, Utah - The College of Idaho men's track and field team wrapped up its efforts at the 2022 Aggie Invitational with seven runner-up performances, including a record-setting performance by Lane Maher (Pendleton, Ore.).
Maher took second in the 100m hurdles with a NAIA "A" qualifying time and broke his own school record with a time of 14.30. He also was second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.51. Another runner-up finish for the Yotes in the sprints came from Casey Senethavilay (Meridian, Idaho), who was second in the 100m dash (10.95 – wind-aided conversion: 11.11) and fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.24. The effort in the 200m dash is the fourth fastest to date in the NAIA.
In the field events, Stephen Campbell took third in the shot put with a PR and NAIA "A" qualifying toss of 53-3 (16.23m). Plus Koyote Zimmerman (Boise, Idaho) was second in the triple jump with a jump of 41-1 (12.52m). Also, Kade Setoki (Murtagh, Idaho) in the long jump with a leap of 21-4 (6.50m) en route to a third-place finish.
Other top performances for the Yotes included Trajan Holtzen (Jerome, Idaho) was third in the 800m run with a CCC Championship qualifying time of 1:56.14. Braden Heath (Meridian, Idaho) also was third in the 3,000m steeplechase with a NAIA "B" qualifying time of 9:43.03.
Also for College of Idaho, Daniel Butler (Buhl, Idaho) was fifth overall in the 1,500m run (4:02.23) and Ian Jackson (Las Vegas, Nev.) was sixth (4:02.23) to lead a host of PRs for the Yotes as well as secure spots at the CCC Championships. Additional PRs for the Yotes in the 1,500m run came from Aaron Van Lersberghe, who was seventh in a PR time of 4:05.52, Parker Wade was ninth in a PR time of 4:10.16 and the final PR for the Yotes in the event came from Luke Ammirati, who was 10th in 4:10.29.
Plus, Zach Curtsinger (Gooding, Idaho) posted a PR time of 50.57 to secure a spot in the CCC Championships in the 400m dash.
