Six Warriors Compete at Rich Allen Classic

NEWBERG, Ore. – A half a dozen members of the Corban University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Newberg, Ore. for the Rich Allen Classic, hosted by George Fox University on Saturday.

RESULTS

On the women's side, Judah Koehler and Lindsay Janzer each ran personal-best times in the 10,000 meters. Koehler placed fifth in the event (43:00.49) and Janzer ended in 10th (48:01.44).

Maggie Ramey also established a new personal record on Saturday, clearing a height of 9 ' 6.25" meters in the pole vault, good enough for seventh.

For the Warrior men, Matthew Araki headlined the day's action, throwing for a 40' 8.75" mark (fourth overall) in the shot put to clinch his spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships in the event. 

Shane Davis ran a season-best time of 4:16.38 in the 1,500 meters (14th), and James Busch rounded out Corban's male performers in the javelin, setting a new personal record with a 140' 1" throw (7th).

Corban will meet up with a handful of CCC foes at the Raider Invitational next week, hosted at the same venue that will welcome competitors for the CCC Championships later this spring. The meet—hosted by Southern Oregon University—will take place on April 15-16.
