Tournament Central
After LC State won its first two games, the Warriors secured their spot in the championship game. The Warriors dug deep to hold off Corban University, 5-3, in their opening game before downing UBC 6-3 on Tuesday.
UBC gets another crack at the Warriors after clawing its way into the finale. The Thunderbirds opened the tournament with a 10-3 victory over College of Idaho before falling to LC State. Last night, the T-birds eliminated an 8-0 deficit, scoring five runs in the seventh inning alone, to come from behind to beat the Coyotes once again, 12-9, and advance to the championship game.
The winner of the conference tournament will secure an automatic qualifier (AQ) from the conference to the Opening Round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament. LC State already has a spot in the Opening Round with the host bid, so if LC State wins the tournament, the tournament runner-up will earn the CCC’s AQ.
