KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced nearly 11,000 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and close to 2,000 NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Thursday. ?

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.??
In all, the Cascade Collegiate Conference saw 87 teams earn the Scholar Team award and 467 student-athletes named Scholar-Athletes. Oregon Tech led the CCC with 97 individual Scholar-Athletes, while Eastern Oregon University saw 15 teams earn Scholar Team honors.
Northwest University’s women’s cross country team tied the top team GPA across all sports with a 3.90. Bushnell University had the highest team GPA (3.75) for volleyball teams and Oregon Tech had the top GPA in men’s basketball at 3.62.
