LA GRANDE, Ore. – No. 13 EOU Women's Wrestling posted another strong showing this Friday at the York Duals. In four duals, the Mounties went 3-1 overall. Eastern beat Ottawa University 33-16, the University of Saint Mary 32-12, and York College 36-10. Their only loss on the day came to Missouri Valley College who snuck away with a one-point victory, 24-23.
vs Ottawa (W, 33-16)
After a bye in the first round of the dual tournament, the Mounties matched up with Ottawa University, cruising to a runaway victory after three straight Ottawa forfeits to start the match. Along with the three forfeits to open, the Mounties won the next four matches via fall or tech fall. Paige Chafin, Kaylee Moore, Erin Redford, and Morgan Shines all came out on top in the first dual of the day.

Carrying momentum from their first win of the day, the Mounties struck first again in against St. Mary. Nayeli Flores Roque got EOU off to a hot start with a 11-0 tech fall followed by a Stephanie Blankenship pin in the first period. St. Mary fought back taking wins in the 123 and 130-pound weight classes, but that would wrap up their success as the Mounties dominated down the stretch. Erin Redford, Morgan Shines, Amara Halverson, and Olivia Robinson all cleaned up with either a pin or tech fall.

The Mounties bounced back in epic fashion routing York College to end the day with a 36-10 victory. Nayeli Flores Roque started the dual with a 10-0 tech fall in the 101-pound weight class. Stephanie Blankenship immediately followed that up with a pin in an astonishing 19 seconds over York's Lexis Vasquez. When the 136-pound weight class came around, Erin Redford jumped up 10-0 to take the tech fall victory. Morgan Shines and Amara Halverson then put the dual away with back-to-back first period pins to give the Mounties the win.
