CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the third-straight year, Lewis-Clark State College was chosen to win the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, as the CCC released the 2024 Baseball Preseason Poll on Tuesday.
LC State picked up four first-place votes and 46 total points to land atop the coaches’ poll. Last season the Warriors had a rocky start, not earning the CCC regular season or tournament title but advanced to the NAIA Opening Round on a host site berth. The team ended up showing out at the World Series, finishing as the runner-up of the 2023 NAIA Baseball World Series with a 38-11 overall record.
University of British Columbia claimed one first-place vote and 41 points to sit second in the poll. UBC was co-regular season conference champions and went on to win the 2023 CCC Baseball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank. The Thunderbirds advanced to the NAIA Opening Round, going 1-2 before being eliminated.
Oregon Tech followed close behind with 39 points and two first-place votes of its own for a third-place ranking. OIT had one of its best seasons in program history, ending as the co-regular season CCC champions with a 33-19 overall record.
College of Idaho received 26 points to land in the fourth spot in the standings while Bushnell University followed in fifth with 23 points. Corban University (11 points) and Eastern Oregon University (10 points) rounded out the poll at sixth and seventh, respectively.
The 2024 CCC Baseball Championship Tournament is set for May 4-6 and will be hosted by the regular season champion. The tournament winner will earn the conference’s automatic berth to the 2024 NAIA Baseball Championship.
