4x4 Record Broken at Mike Fanelli Classic

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.  – The women's 4x400 meter school record, which had stood for seven years, was broken on Friday afternoon, highlighting an impressive first day for the Beacons at the Mike Fanelli Classic, hosted by San Francisco State.

Adrienne Mai, Olivia Bailon, Madeline Desemone, and Janea Robertson took fourth place in the race and came across the finish line in 4:04.45 seconds to set a new Bushnell standard. The previous record of 4:05.50 was set in 2016.

Friday also featured two new Cascade Conference qualifications as Bushnell competed in the Distance Carnival portion of the meet.

Senior Rebecca Kuskie finished 89th among the 163 competitors who took part in the 1500m race, and did so with another lifetime PR of 4:52.14. She cleared the CCC qualification mark by 0.59 seconds, punching her second ticket to the event (5000m).

Freshman Alec Carne also added his name to the conference docket for the first time as he won his heat of the 5000m race with a personal best 15:09.67. He was 72nd in the 188-man race and missed a Bushnell top-ten all-time finish by just three seconds.

The 1500m also featured a five-second collegiate personal best for junior Kaitlin Cook (5:20.72) while Olivia Bailon (5:05.10) came within a fourth of a second from her own lifetime best.

The Mike Fanelli Classic concludes on Saturday with a host of Beacons scheduled to compete.
