Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech Baseball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 27 – April 2 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
 
The Owls took three victories in the series against No. 3 Lewis-Clark State College this weekend. In Saturday’s first game, Patrick Arman and Braeden Bellum combined on a 1-hit shutout in the opener. In seven innings of work, Arman recorded a no-hitter into the fifth inning, struck out three, and only walked one. Bellum retired the final six batters for his first save. Offensively, Tech took a 3-0 lead after two innings. Typer Horner led the game going 3-for-5 with an RBI. Sean Tobin and Korrey Siracusa both recorded two hits for the Owls in the 3-0 defeat.
 
In game two of the day, after being down by a run in the sixth, OIT answered as Owl stars Tobin walked and Horner knocked him home with a game-tying double. Julien Jones followed with a run-scoring single to give Tech a 2-1 lead. In the eighth, back-to-back doubles from Ka'ala Tam and Brodie Marino helped secure Oregon Techs' 3-2 win. On the mound, Lalo Barraza held LC State to two runs and four hits, striking out five to earn his sixth win of the season while Riley Cronin picked up his fifth save.
 
On Sunday, LC State got the first run in the first inning and then it was a silent game until the top of the sixth. With the help of a few hits and throwing errors, the Owls were able to rack up three runs to take the lead. The Warriors answered back in the bottom of the eighth but three more runs in the top of the ninth helped seal the 8-6 victory for Oregon Tech. Riley Cronin got the win on the mound while Cody Dubray also pitched four innings and recorded seven strikeouts. Korrey Siracusa led the game going 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs, and an RBI. Typer Horner and Sean Tobin also both recorded two hits for the Owls.
 
The final game was a back-and-forth battle, but LCSC would not allow the OIT to go home with a full sweep. Tech had a one-run lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but the Warriors crushed a three-run walk-off to take their sole series win with a final score of 10-8.
 
Up next, the current CCC leaders will host Corban University on Friday for another conference series.
