Men's Golf Championship Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is ready to get underway Monday morning. Follow along with live results and on the tournament page.
 
The winner of the tournament will get the CCC’s automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Tournament, while the regular-season conference championship will be determined by the best win/loss record of the regular season tournaments – including the conference tournament. In case of a tie, co-conference champions will be declared.
 
All-Conference honors will be awarded to the top 10 players with the lowest stroke average. Individuals must have participated in a minimum of seventy-five percent of the CCC rounds played to be eligible for the honor. 
 
There is a tight race for the top spot in the conference standings heading into the final tournament of the season. No. 10-ranked University of British Columbia holds a narrow four-point average advantage over No. 20-ranked Lewis-Clark State College.
 
In the team race last year, UBC (298-291-300 – 889) claimed the team title by four strokes over Lewis-Clark State (294-300-299 – 893). The reigning champions took both conference invitationals in the fall, the third match-up in the spring got canceled due to inclement weather in Walla Walla.
 
The next four teams in the standings, College of Idaho, Bushnell University, Multnomah University, and Oregon Tech are all within less than two-point stroke averages of each other. Southern Oregon University, Walla Walla University, and Corban University will also be competing.
 
The individual race will be tight as 14 golfers boast a scoring average under 75 heading into the tournament. Mackenzie Bickell and Dylan Macdonald from UBC are currently tied for the top spot, averaging 72.2. Hudson Lafayette from UBC and  Jorgen Viken from LC State follow, tied with a 72.3 average. The next six individual conference leaders are separated by less than a point and come from various intuitions to ensure some quality, competitive performances.
 
Bushnell hosts the three-day tournament at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell Oregon. The tournament is set to tee off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Pacific on Monday and Tuesday. A round of 18 will be played each day for a total of 54. The final day of competition on Wednesday will utilize tee times with the first group starting at 8 a.m. off of hole # 10.
