CRESWELL, Ore. – The University of British Columbia took control of first place in the team standings following the second round of the 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.
In the individual standings, there is now a two-way tie between Bushnell University’s Caden Stubbs and Lewis-Clark State’s College’s Jorgen Viken for the top after Stubbs shot the lowest round of the day, a 3-under 68. Stubbs (72-68—140) and Viken (66-74—140) are tied at 2-under par through 36 holes.
Aidan Schumer (70-73—143) of UBC is three strokes back of the leaders, while Mackenzie Bickell (76-70—146) of UBC and Jackson Muramoto (73-73—146) of Bushnell are tied for fourth. Bickell, who was tied 13th entering the round, was the only golfer outside of Stubbs to shoot under par on Tuesday.
The Thunderbirds, who are ranked No. 10 in the most recent NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Poll, hold an eight-stroke lead over Bushnell. The Beacons posted a 293 on the round to move into second place, while the No. 20 Warriors carded a 303.

The men’s side will tee off the third round on hole 10 at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the Emerald Valley Golf Club.
