CORVALLIS, Ore. - The first day of the Oregon State High Performance saw four members of the College of Idaho women’s track and field team post NAIA “A” qualifying marks.
College of Idaho junior Abbey Shirts in the 1500m run posted a PR by eight seconds and a time of 4:23.40 to headline the four NAIA “A” qualifying marks. She was joined by Larissa Mauer, who crossed the line in a time of 10:58.24 in the 3,000m steeplechase. Then, Sage Martin and Ellyse Tingelstad in the 5,000m run with Tingelstad posting a season-best time of 17:00.96.
Also, for the women, Sage Wood clocked a season-best time of 25.88 in the 200m dash en route to an eighth-place finish. Roby Young posted a season-best time of 1:01.12 in the 400m hurdles. The performances by Wood and Young qualify them for the CCC Championships. Plus, Taylor Durfey and Kay Reed each posted a CCC Championship qualifying mark in the discus with a throw of 114-2 (34.81m) and 111-2 (33.88m), respectively.
