SPOKANE, Wash. – The College of Idaho men’s track and field team was led by a runner-up finish by Braden Heath in the 3,000m steeplechase with a NAIA “A” qualifying time of 9:21.67 and is the third fastest to date in the NAIA at the Whitworth Peace Meet on Friday.
Plus, Lane Maher was also second in the 110m hurdles (15.08) and Daniel Butler was second in the 800m (1:53.76). The time by Butler is just .76 off a NAIA “B” qualifying time. Behind Heath in the 3,000m steeplechase was Hayden Bostrom in 9:32.48. The performance by Bostrom is just .48 off a NAIA “B” qualifying mark.
Five more Yotes posted PR’s on their way to Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship marks including Zach Curtsinger, who was fifth in the 400m dash (49.73), plus Aaron Seitz was sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:00.70) and Daulton Monkress was sixth in the 200m dash (22.52) and 400m dash (50.06).
In the field events, Koyote Zimmerman took fifth in the triple jump with a CCC Championship qualifying leap and season-best mark of 41-5 ¾ (12.64m).
