CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Friday in La Grande, Oregon. Over 300 competitors will be vying for podium honors, as well as looking to solidify qualifying marks for the NAIA National Championships to be held late this month.

At the last CCC Track and Field Championships, Eastern Oregon University men took the team title while University of British Columbia won on the women’s side.
The top-three placers in each event will earn All-Conference accolades. The top male and female athletes will be named in the track events, as well as the field events.
Action begins Friday with the men’s and women’s hammer throw starting at 2:00 p.m. Pacific. The first race to hit the rubber will be the men’s and women’s 5K racewalk at 3:00 p.m., which is only for qualifying for the NAIA Championship – it won’t count toward CCC team scores. The first CCC championship track event will be the women’s steeplechase at 4:30 p.m.
The two-day event concludes Saturday, starting with a graduation ceremony for a number of senior student-athletes who will be competing during their official campus commencement. Action will kick off with multiple field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. The women’s 100-meter dash finals kick off at 2:00 p.m. on the track. The last event of the meet will be the men’s 4x400 relay, set to begin at 4:25 p.m. Awards will then be handed out around 4:45 p.m.
