CCC Baseball Tournament Scoreboard 5.7.23

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After a day of weather delays, the Cascade Collegiate Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank finally began. The second seed, University of British Columbia, claims first spot in the 2023 CCC Baseball Championship game.

#2 seed University of British Columbia def. #3 seed College of Idaho
Game 1: UBC won 5-1. The game was close until Brandon Hupe's three-run homer in the bottom of the 7th inning helped take the win for British Columbia. CCC Pitcher of the Year, Sean Heppner got the win on the mound with five strikeouts and no earned runs in five innings. The T-Birds will take on the winner of the next game. The Yotes were led by CCC Player of the Year, Jonah Hultberg who went 2-for-3 at the plate. College of Idaho will face the loser of the following game.

#4 seed Lewis-Clark State College def. #1 seed Oregon Tech
Game 2: LCSC won 14-2 in eight innings. Pu'ukani De Sa led the offense for the winning Warriors with a 4-for-5 day at the plate with four RBI and Nick Seamon’s drove in six runs on three hits. The LC State bats came alive against OIT behind Trevin Hope's 11-strikeout performance. The Warriors will face UBC in the next game. Julien Jones led OIT with two of their four hits, one being a homerun. The Owls will take on the Yotes during the nightcap in the first elimination game of the tournament.

#2 seed University of British Columbia def. #4 seed Lewis-Clark State College
Game 3: UBC won 4-2. Hupe had another standout game for the T-Birds with two of their five hits. Defensively, Ryan Heppner was flat out dominant Sunday afternoon striking out 12 batters through eight innings as the UBC advance to Tuesday's championship game of the Cascade Conference Tournament. The Warriors tallied six hits. Carter Booth and Charlie Updegrave drove in the two runs. LC State will compete in the second elimination game tomorrow against the winner of the following game.

#1 seed Oregon tech eliminates #3 seed College of Idaho
Game 4: OIT won 9-0 on 14 hits. Korrey Siracusa was 3-for-4 and Tyler Horner was 3-for-5 in the win to lead the Owls. Patrick Arman allowed eight hits and struck out six batters in the shutout for his eighth win on the mound. Alex McFarland-Smith led the Yotes going 2-for-4 in their last game of the season (31-18, 15-9 CCC). Oregon Tech will face LC State tomorrow for the sole game of the day to determine British Columbia’s opponent in the CCC Baseball Championship.
