KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A dominant day by defending Cascade Conference champion British Columbia highlighted Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2023 Oregon Tech Fall Invitational at Running Y Ranch Resort.
The T-Birds recorded back-to-back 10-under-par 278s to take a 30-shot lead into tomorrow's final round. UBC is on pace to break their own conference 54-hole scoring record.
Southern Oregon posted the two best scores in the short history of their program (297-289 – 586), finishing the day at 10-over-par, 10-strokes clear of rival Oregon Tech (299-297 – 596). Both Lewis-Clark State (294-303 – 597) and College of Idaho (299-306 – 605) are still in the running for second-place.
Six different players finished the opening 36 holes under par – as UBC teammates Mackenzie Bickell (66-71 – 137) and Dylan MacDonald (70-67 – 137) are the co-leaders in the clubhouse at 7-under-par. Mason Lebow (72-66 – 138) of Southern Oregon posted the Raiders top score in program history, a second-round 6-under 66, sitting one shot off the pace.
UBC's J.P. Kahlert (72-68 – 140) is alone in fourth, while OIT's Hunter Eberhardt (74-68 – 142) recorded the best round by a Hustlin' Owl since the 2019-20 season in the second-round, finishing tied with UBC's Manu Gandhi at 2-under-par, five shots out of the lead.
OIT's Xavier De La Rosa (73-72 – 145) and SOU's Ricky Reisner (72-73 – 145) are tied for seventh, with four players – C of I's Parker Edwards (76-72 – 148), Corban's Max McDonough (72-76 – 148), LC State's Alex Navarro (75-73 – 148) and Walla Walla's Eddie Tache (72-76 – 148) tied for ninth.
Round 3 will begin Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
