Cascade Connects: Women’s Soccer Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer season officially begins Friday.
 
Twelve teams kick off the season, playing six games to get the season rolling as 13 teams battle for the regular-season championship and the CCC’s first automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NAIA National Tournament. The second AQ will be awarded to the winner of the CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank., starting on Nov. 6 in Eugene, Oregon.
 
After a historic National run last year, College of Idaho was chosen to take the title in the CCC Preseason Poll. Currently, the Yotes are ranked No. 17 in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 Rating. Eastern Oregon University and Southern Oregon University both received votes.
 
No. 17 College of Idaho vs. The Evergreen State College
College of Idaho enters the CCC season with a 4-1-1 record and 23 goals. They faced tough NCAA competition and traveled to Tennessee to prepare for the coming year. C of I hosted their last two matchups before they hit the road to Olympia Washington. Evergreen is looking to pick up its first win with a tough 0-2-1 start.  
 
(RV) Eastern Oregon University vs. Northwest University
Eastern Oregon is prepared to take the team to new heights at the helm of first year head coach, Josh Goodman. The Mounties already are getting National nods as they head into conference without a loss and a 2-0-2 record. EOU hits the road to Kirkland, Washington to face defending CCC regular season and tournament champions, Northwest University. The Eagles are currently 2-3 overall as they look to defend their title.
 
(RV) Southern Oregon University vs. Warner Pacific University
Southern Oregon is ready for conference play by already facing tough NCAA competition and upsetting No. 9-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Raiders are 3-3 and receiving National votes as they head to Portland, Ore., to face Warner Pacific to begin the CCC season. The Knights had a stellar preseason and are currently ranked 4th in the conference with a 3-2 record.
 
Oregon Tech vs. Multnomah University
Oregon Tech is currently coming off its first victory over Pacific University and entering conference action with a 1-1-1 record. The Owls are headed to Portland, Ore., to face Multnomah. The Lions are ready to compete as they hold a 2-3 record.
 
Bushnell University vs. Corban University
Bushnell is currently 1-2 as they head into the conference season. The Beacons take the short trip on the road to Salem, Ore., to face Corban. The Warriors enter the year with a 2-2-2 record.
 
University of Providence vs. Rocky Mountain College
The Montana teams are both looking for their second win of the season as they face off for the second time this season. Providence (1-3) fell to Rocky (1-2) with a score of 5-1 a month ago.
 
Carroll College is currently leading the conference with a 3-0-1 overall record and will begin conference play on Sunday against Rocky.
