Corban Opens Indoor Track & Field Season with Trio of Men’s Mile Program Records at UW Preview

"All three of our guys were within three seconds of the NAIA B standard for the mile," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos shared following his program's brief testing of the indoor season earlier today. "It was a great experience for the athletes and now we've gotten off our indoor season to a successful start."

Sending just three runners to the annual UW Preview, hosted by NCAA DI University of Washington in Seattle, the Warriors were ecstatic to hit the indoor facilities for the first major event in the Pacific Northwest this season. Coach Bos submitted his three student-athletes for entry in hopes of introducing the two freshmen and experienced sophomore to the collegiate indoor scene, where all three exceeded expectations.

Freshman Braydon Lee was the top finisher for the Warriors with a 4:17.62 finish, good enough for 35th overall, in his first collegiate mile run. With his final time, Lee broke the all-time career best mark for a men's runner in the indoor event and providing the team with a new mark to reach in the season-opening meet. Sophomore Zander Moha and freshman Jack Gladfelter finished back-to-back in 42nd and 43rd, respectively. Their marked finishes of 4:19.21 and 4:19.61 also top the previous all-time best mark that Lee now holds, resulting in a top three finish for all three members of the Navy and Gold today in program history.

Thanks to today's results, the trio of Corban speedsters all rank in the top 16 within the NAIA for the men's indoor mile event, providing Coach Bos and his staff with plenty to consider as the Warriors turn their attention to the first full team appearance on February 3rd at the GFU Indoor One, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.
