Lee Becomes First Warrior to Qualify for NAIA National Championships in Program History

SEATTLE, Wash. – For the first time in Corban University Track & Field program history, a Warrior will be representing the team at the national stage this upcoming March, as a pair of men's indoor track & field athletes traveled north to the UW Invitational and outperformed their expectations to continue growing the anticipation surrounding the team's first full-program meet in the coming weeks.

"Braydon had a historic run today at the UW Invite," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos shared shortly after the completion of his two racers' events. "He is the first Corban track & field athlete to hit a qualifying standard for the indoor national meet. Zander also set a new personal record in the mile race and moved even closer to the national standard as well. The entire team is excited for Braydon and Zander's accomplishments and to all officially be in action next week."

True freshman long distance runner Braydon Lee made program history earlier today in the 800 meter race in the UW Invitational, hosted by NCAA DI University of Washington. His final time of 1:55.09 is not only an all-time program record for the indoor event, but hits the minimum 1:55.30 standard needed to qualify for the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship at the end of February, where he will represent Corban in at least one event, if not more considering he has plenty of time to still qualify in several other races.

Sophomore Zander Moha remains in hot pursuit of qualifying for the national championships in the mile race as well, needing to shave off just over a second from the 4:18.83 he posted today to hit the B standard and join Lee as the only qualifiers in program history. With indoor season only having just started, the entire Warrior team will have a handful of opportunities to see more student-athletes reach the qualifying marks and book their tickets to Brookings, South Dakota.

The entire Corban indoor program is scheduled to hit the tracks, runways, and throwing pits next Saturday at the first indoor meet of the season hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University, which will take place on February 3rd at the GFU Multi-Use Facility.
