CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from October 14 – 20, 2024.

Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 10-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Justin Ash was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Ash, a senior from Baker City, Ore., finished 10th out of 100 total runners at the Linfield George Oja Invite on Saturday. He completed the 8k with a time of 24:38.8 to help lead the Mounties to a 3rd place team finish.

Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 9-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Fiona Fraser was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Fraser, a freshman from Port Townsend, Wash., was the top NAIA finisher at the Linfield George Oja Invite on Saturday. She finished the 6k with a new PR of 21:31.4, helping lead SOU to a 4th place team finish.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
(RV) Carroll College’s Juan Muniz Navarette was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Muniz Navarette, a senior goalkeeper from Hermiston, Ore., helped lead the Fighting Saints to two more victories over No. 24-ranked Southern Oregon University (3-1) and Oregon Tech (2-0). He played full time in the net during both matches, completing five saves for a .833 save percentage.

Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
(RV) Carroll College’s Caleb Hoxie was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Hoxie, a graduate student midfielder from Helena, Mont., had an outstanding weekend in the Fighting Saints two wins against No. 24-ranked Southern Oregon University (3-1) and Oregon Tech (2-0). He added an assist and scored a goal in each game for a .667 shooting and shot on goal percentage.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Oregon Tech’s Carly Moss was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Moss, a senior defender from Reno, Nev., anchored a stellar defense in Oregon Tech’s two shutouts against University of Providence (4-0) and (RV) Carroll College (1-0). OIT allowed just five total shots all weekend and she also scored the game winning goal during a first half penalty kick against Carroll.

Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Southern Oregon University’s Brooklyn Hayes was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Hayes, a sophomore forward from Cameron Park, Calif., helped the Raiders to an undefeated weekend. She recorded her 1st career brace to bring SOU back from a two-goal deficit against (RV) Carroll College, scoring in the 66th and 88th minutes to secure a 2-2 draw. She ended the weekend with a .750 shot on goal percentage as Southern Oregon also shutout University of Providence 1-0.

Volleyball – Attacker
Northwest University’s Aubree Dees was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
 
Dees, a junior right-side hitter from Tehachapi, Calif., averaged 4.14 kills per set on a .278 hitting percentage with 29 total kills. She also added 28 digs (4 d/s), six assists, two service aces, and a block as the Eagles defeated Multnomah (3-0) and Warner Pacific University (3-1).

Volleyball – Defender
No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kiauna Mack was named the CCC Defender of the Week for the second time this season.

Mack, a junior middle hitter from Puyallup, Wash., totaled 18 block assists (2.25 b/s), 15 kills, and three digs on the weekend. Her efforts helped the Mounties to two big wins over No. 9-ranked Corban University (3-0) and (RV) Bushnell University (3-2).

Volleyball – Setter
Oregon Tech’s Lucy Boyd was named the CCC Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Boyd, a freshmen setter from Cave Creek, Ariz., had a stellar weekend for OIT who shutout Walla Walla University and Lewis-Clark State College. She totaled 60 assists (10 a/s) while adding 16 digs, nine blocks, eight kills, and two service aces.
