CORVALLIS, Ore. – Southern Oregon University and University of Providence tied for first place in the 2024-25 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Preseason Poll, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Southern Oregon and Providence each received three first place votes and 33 points to share the top spot in the preseason poll. Last season, SOU earned 2nd place at the CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, while UP came in 3rd. At the National Tournament, the Raiders claimed 3rd place with two National Champions and five others reached All-American status. The Argos ended in 7th place at the NAIA Championship with five All-Americans and were recognized as the NAIA Team Sportsmanship award winners.
Eastern Oregon University landed at third in the poll with 22 points. The Mounties came in fifth at the CCC tournament and 24th at the NAIA Tournament last season. The Evergreen State College followed with 15 points in the standings. The Geoducks placed sixth at the conference tournament and 20th at the NAIA Championship.
Westcliff University’s new program received 11 points for a fifth place ranking while Simpson University rounded out the coaches’ poll with nine points.
The 2025 CCC Women’s Wrestling Tournament is set for March 2, hosted by Simpson in Redding, California. Automatic berths to the NAIA national championship are awarded to the top finishers in each weight class. Additional qualifier allocations will be released by the national office succeeding all NAIA conference tournaments. The 2025 NAIA Women’s Wrestling Championship will take place on March 14 - 15 in Park City, Kansas.
