CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from October 21 – 27, 2024.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
No. 9-ranked University of British Columbia’s Dylan MacDonald was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
MacDonald (68-67-64 – 199), a senior from Markham, Ont., claimed individual medalist honors and helped lead British Columbia to a team title at the final CCC Golf Tournament of the fall season. He shot under par in all three rounds, recording a program record of -17, highlighted by an eight-under final round which also tied the Thunderbirds single-round all-time record.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
No. 2-ranked University of British Columbia’s Bo Brown was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Brown (73-69 – 142), a senior from Mississauga, Ont., won a three-way playoff for individual gold at the final CCC Golf Tournament of the fall season. In the second round she shot a career-best three-under par which also helped lead the Thunderbirds to a team title by 25 strokes.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 3-ranked College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season.
Butler, a graduate student from Buhl, Idaho, was the top finisher out of 339 total racers at the Blazing Tiger Classic on Saturday. He completed the 8k in a time of 23:56.1, besting the competition by almost 30 seconds and helping the Yotes secure a team victory by 38 points.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 5-ranked College of Idaho’s Kahea Figueira was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season.
Figueira, a senior from Spokane, Wash., was the runner up out of 303 total racers at the Blazing Tiger Classic on Saturday. She completed the 6k in a time of 21:36.44, helping the Yotes to second place team finish.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Rocky Mountain College’s Stefan Schenk was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Schenk, a junior goalkeeper from Baar-Ebenhausen, Germany, recorded two clean sheets in Rocky's home victories over Warner Pacific University (2-0) and Multnomah (3-0). He played full time in the net during both matches, completing four saves in each contest.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
(RV) Carroll College’s Alfie Snow was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Snow, a junior forward from Middlesbrough, England, had an outstanding weekend in the Fighting Saints 3-0 victories against Northwest University and The Evergreen State College. He recorded a hat-trick in the first game and added another goal the next day for a .667 shooting and shot on goal percentage.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 11-ranked College of Idaho’s Alivia Brenchley was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Brenchley, a sophomore goalkeeper from Providence Utah, tallied two shutouts in the Yotes road wins against Bushnell University (2-0) and Corban University (6-0). She played full time in the net, completing three saves and helping C of I clinch back to back regular season CCC titles.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Rocky Mountain College’s Charlize Davis was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Davis, a sophomore forward from Billings, Mont., helped lead the Battlin’ Bears to two victories over Warner Pacific University (7-3) and Multnomah (4-0). She recorded a six-point weekend, totaling a goal and an assist in each win.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 9-ranked Corban University’s Emma Bischoff was named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the second time this season.
Bischoff, a sophomore outside hitter from Medford, Ore., had another dominate weekend in the Warriors season sweeps against Oregon Tech (3-1) and No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University (3-2). She tallied 33 kills (3.67 k/s) as she attacked 73 times with only 11 errors for a .301 kill percentage. Over the weekend she also added 21 digs (2.33 d/s), five block assists, and a service ace.
Volleyball – Defender
Oregon Tech’s Kaley Whalen was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Whalen, a junior libero from Reno, Nev., totaled 48 digs (6.86 d/s), four assists, and four service aces on the weekend. Her efforts helped lead OIT to a shutout over (RV) Bushnell University and a competitive four set loss against No. 9-ranked Corban University.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Alexis McMurtrey was named the CCC Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
McMurtrey, a senior setter from Idaho Falls, Idaho, had a stellar weekend for EOU who defeated The Evergreen State College (3-0) and Northwest University (3-2). She recorded 49 assists (6.13 a/s) while adding 26 digs (3.25 d/s) and a service ace.
