CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from September 30 – October 7, 2024.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Bushnell University’s Benjamin Lovrod was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Lovrod (72-73 – 145), a senior from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, earned a runner up finish at the Run-In at the Ranch. He finished at one-over par to record the best two-round tournament of his career against 50 other golfers.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech’s Quincy Beyrouty was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second time this season.
Beyrouty (73-73 – 146), a senior from Salem, Ore., claimed the individual title at the Run-In at the Ranch by four strokes against 40 other golfers. She recorded five birdies during her final round, helping lead OIT to the team title.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 4-ranked College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Butler, a graduate student from Buhl, Idaho, finished ahead of 278 runners to claim first place in the fiercely competitive 49th Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational on Saturday. He completed the 8k with a personal-best time of 23:47.4, helping lead the Yotes to a team title as well by a 15 point margin out of 25 teams across all divisions.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 6-ranked College of Idaho’s Julia Gilbert was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Gilbert, a sophomore from Mountain Home, Idaho, led the Yotes at the fiercely competitive 49th Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational on Saturday. She finished the 5k with a time of 17:53.8 in 13th place against 216 total runners. Her efforts helped C of I reach a 4th place team finish against 21 teams across all divisions.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 24-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Casey Ruvolo was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Ruvolo, a junior goalkeeper from New River, Ariz., led the Raiders to two 1-0 victories against Eastern Oregon University and (RV) College of Idaho. He played full time in the net during both shutouts, completing nine saves.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
(RV) Warner Pacific University’s Bodo Calderon was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Calderon, a junior center from Portland, Ore., helped lead the Knights to victories over The Evergreen State College (2-1) and Northwest University (4-1). On the weekend he took four total shots with all on goal and three went in for an impressive .750 shooting percentage.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Madeline Barker was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Barker, a senior goalkeeper from Kalama, Wash., led the Mounties to two 1-0 victories against Southern Oregon University and (RV) Oregon Tech. She played full time in the net during both shutouts, completing 10 saves.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 12-ranked College of Idaho’s Natasja Davis was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Davis, a junior forward from Kuna, Idaho, helped lead the Yotes to victories over (RV) Oregon Tech (3-0) and Southern Oregon University (3-1). She recorded a brace in the first match and half her shots were on goal.
Volleyball – Attacker
(RV) Bushnell University’s Hailey Heider was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
Heider, a junior outside hitter from Albany, Ore., averaged 6.14 kills per set on a .311 average for 43 total in the Beacons wins against The Evergreen State College (3-1) and Northwest University (3-0). She also added 16 digs, four blocks, and three service aces.
Volleyball – Defender
(RV) Bushnell University’s Bella Parque was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Parque, a senior defensive specialist from Puyallup, Wash., totaled 33 digs (4.71 d/s) over the weekend and recorded 32 service receptions on just three errors, helping the Beacons defeat Evergreen and Northwest.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 8-ranked Corban University's Abby Guindy was named the CCC Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
Guindy, a junior setter from San Jose, Calif., had a stellar weekend for Corban who defeated Northwest and Evergreen. She totaled 57 assists (8.14 a/s) and 11 digs (1.57 d/s), helping the Warriors record a .342 hitting percentage on the weekend.
