2024 CCC Women’s Soccer Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer postseason awards were announced Saturday by the conference office.
 
Larissa Wegner of College of Idaho was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Carly Moss of Oregon Tech earned the Defensive Player of the Year, Sydni Nakamura of Oregon Tech received the Goalkeeper of the Year and Maya Alston of Corban University was selected as the Newcomer of the Year. C of I head coach Brian Smith was named the Coach of the Year and the Yotes grabbed the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Wegner, a senior midfielder from Meridian, Idaho was a crucial part to the Yotes dominant offense, leading C of I to an undefeated season and a CCC Regular Season Championship title. She finished the regular season leading the CCC in points with 19 total and tied at the top of the leaderboard in goals (8) and game-winning goals (4).

Moss, a senior defender from Reno, Nev., helped push OIT to second place in the CCC standings. She played a crucial part in the Owls dominant season and earned a CCC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Nakamura, a senior goalkeeper from Mililani, Hawaii, helped lead the Owls to clinch the No. 2 seed in the CCC tournament. She topped the CCC in shutouts with seven total and only allowed nine goals all conference season.
 
Alston, a freshman forward, had an outstanding first season with the Warriors. She is ranked in the top 10 in the CCC in shots (2.75 avg/g) and goals (0.42 avg/g) and received a CCC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Smith led the No. 11-ranked College of Idaho to an undefeated season (14-0-2, 12-0 CCC) and back-to-back regular season titles. In his 13th season, this is his third consecutive year earning this honor. The Yotes are currently on a 12-game win streak as they continue into the postseason. Overall, College of Idaho averaged 4.08 goals per game while holding opponents to an average of 0.50 goals against. The regular-season champs saw five players on the first team, two on the second team, and one received honorable mention.
