NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Eastern Oregon women's wrestling team battled through a challenging field at the North Central Open on Saturday, earning several standout performances, including a podium finish by Delia Gulzow at 138 pounds and a third-place finish by Liv Wieber at 145 pounds.
At 138 pounds, Delia Gulzow pieced together three consecutive wins, including two by fall, over J. Villagomez, J. Hopkins, and S. Bultron. Gulzow's strong performance was capped with a fourth-place finish after falling to E. Gutches in a 10-0 technical fall.
The Mountaineers also showcased strength at 145 pounds, where Liv Wieber collected an impressive string of victories. Wieber opened with a 10-0 technical fall over T. Donovan, followed by a pin against M. Crumb. She ultimately claimed third place after a loss by technical fall, 10-0, to A. Luciana.

The Mountaineers look forward to a holiday break and will return to the mat after the new year. They will travel to McMinnville, Oregon, and compete in the Mat Cat Open on January 5th.
