KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Christian Bothwell of Lewis-Clark State College was named the NAIA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. He was chosen based on his performances from February 5 – 11 and was selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country.
Bothwell, a senior multi-event athlete from Hailey, Idaho, had a record-setting performance in the Heptathlon at the Whitworth Invite last weekend. He racked up a total of 4,793 points to break his own school record. He finished 2nd out of 17 total competitors for an “A” Standard which ranks 6th in the NAIA this season. He reached personal bests in the 60m dash (7.48), high jump (1.86m) and 60m hurdles (8.86).
Next up, Bothwell will head to La Grande, Ore., this weekend to compete at the EOU Last Chance Invite.
